This has not been an easy decision for us, and it comes with heavy hearts. Due to a change in our family and housing circumstances, we are no longer able to keep our precious girls, Maevis and Frances. They are beloved members of our family, and we are committed to finding them the most loving, stable forever home — one that will treat them with the same love, care, and devotion they’ve always known.
Ideally, we are looking for a family willing to adopt both girls together. They are deeply bonded and bring out the best in each other. However, we understand this isn’t always possible, and are open to adopting them out separately if the right homes come along.
Meet Maevis
Breed: Mixed Breed (Adopted from Vada Animal Rescue)
Age: ~1.7 years old
Weight: 20kg
Sex: Female (Desexed)
Vaccination Status: Up to date
Microchipped: Yes
Wormed/Flea treated: Yes
Maevis joined our family in 2023 at just 10 weeks old. While she was initially skittish and shy, she has blossomed into a loyal, gentle, and low-energy companion. She is highly food-motivated and enjoys the simple pleasures in life — a comfy place to nap, short walks (1-2 times per day), and car rides.
Maevis is cautious around strangers but once she warms up, she’s incredibly affectionate and very protective of her family. She is great with other dogs, excellent on leash, and good with children. Maevis is not suitable for a home with cats as she tends to chase them.
If you’re looking for a calm, intelligent, and emotionally in-tune companion, Maevis will be your perfect match. She thrives in routine and is incredibly easy to care for.
Meet Frances
Breed: Miniature Schnauzer x Jack Russell Terrier
Age: 1.5 years old
Weight: 9kg
Sex: Female (Desexed)
Vaccination Status: Up to date
Microchipped: Yes
Wormed/Flea treated: Yes
Frances is a small dog with a big personality. She is initially territorial and reserved, she will let you know when new people are at the door, but once she bonds with you, she is an incredibly loving, cuddly, and loyal companion. Frances is a total snuggle bug and thrives in a calm, consistent environment.
While she doesn’t love walks, she is fully capable of going on them and enjoys them once she gets moving. She does best with a family that understands she may take time to settle and feel secure. Frances can be a bit reactive around cats and small children, so we are looking for a home without either or with experience managing introductions carefully.
They have been to doggy day care 1 x a week in Papamoa.
Know basic commands, such as sit, lay, shake, and wait for food. Lead trained.
She is best suited to someone who will include her as part of the family and give her a safe, warm space to feel at ease.
What We’re Looking For in a Home:
A fully fenced section is a must.
A stable, loving family or individual who will be patient and let them adjust at their own pace.
Ideally, a home with no cats and no young children (older dog-savvy kids are okay).
Preference will be given to homes willing to adopt them together, but separate rehoming will be considered if it means both girls end up in amazing homes.
A family who will shower them with love, care, and attention.
Adoption Fee:
$150 each or $250 for both together.
This helps us cover the cost of their vet care and ensures they are going to serious, committed homes.
Location:
Papamoa, Bay of Plenty
Please message us with some information about yourself, your living situation (rent/own, yard setup, other pets, children), and why you feel Maevis and/or Frances would be a great fit in your home.
Only serious inquiries will be considered. We love these girls deeply and want to make sure their next home is forever. We are happy to arrange meet-and-greets with families who need to travel to Papamoa.
