I would like to rehome two beautiful Beagle girls. They will only go to someone that will love them and keep them together. THEY MUST GO AND STAY TOGETHER.
About the Girls. Bailey is 3 years and takes the lead but is not the boss! Very active. Always tends to give in to her best mate Bonnie of which she totally adores and loves. Can use a dog door, great with toileting, great with the sit command and sometimes the come command (typical beagle).
Bonnie is 17mths and full on. Cute as a button, runs everywhere, very interested in all that is going on around her. Not as good with some commands as Bailey but is getting there. Can’t figure out the dog door. Good with toileting, but the odd slip has happened.
Both recently spayed, both are microchipped, fully vaccinated and are raw fed.
The good. They are cute, sweet, affectionate, like having cuddles and pats – especially in bed and are so much fun to watch as they chase each other around the yard. In true beagle fashion food is high on the list of likes. Feeding time is a breeze. They never fight over food, and even tend to share bones and toys!! They are NOT escape artists. They jump onto things e.g couch, bed etc but NOT over gates.
The bad. They can be a little on the timid side and need a lot of reassuring. Know a few commands but need more training. Bonnie being only 17mths can still be a little on the ‘mouthy’ side and thinks socks go in her mouth before going on your feet! The puppy side still comes out! They get bored very quickly which can lead to getting into mischief. This does not happen while I am home and would not happen with a more active family.
Why am I rehoming? It is a year since I lost my last Beagle and felt that I had more love to give. I was lucky enough to find two more Beagles. My issue is that I didn’t realise that they would be so full of energy, and I can’t keep up. My previous two were so more chilled and relaxed. With not being able to keep up, I feel that I am robbing them of their fun, energy filled adolescent years. I am 62 and with a few dodgy joints I now realise that the girls need a much younger family that can take them on their morning jogs and not just an evening walk. Some young children that also never run out of energy would be a bonus for them. I am still working and cannot spend as much time with them as I wanted, and they need. The promise of some days working from home never came through so that is another big part of why I feel it is only fair to the girls that I find a more suitable home for them. Their wellbeing and mental health is paramount to me.
