How do I start a listing?
Start with our Free package and upgrade any time to increase visibility.

Can I edit my listing after it’s published?
Yes. Log in to your account and go to My Listings to update photos, description, or adoption notes. Changes save instantly.
How do upgrades work (Featured / Premium)?
Upgrades boost exposure with priority placement and badges. You can upgrade from Free at any time in My Listings.

Photo & video guidelines
Use clear, well-lit photos (landscape preferred). Recommended: 1600×900px or larger (WEBP/JPG, <2MB per image). Videos can be linked from YouTube or added via supported package options.
Safety & Process
Do you run a physical shelter?
No. We’re an online, NZ-wide platform that connects owners with adopters. Meet-and-greets are arranged directly between parties.
Best practice for meet-and-greets
Choose a safe, neutral location; bring ID; keep pets on lead/in carrier; and have an adoption agreement ready. Trust your instincts—if unsure, walk away.

I need to rehome urgently — tips?
Upload 4–8 clear photos, include temperament/health notes, and enable upgrades for extra visibility. Respond quickly to enquiries and pre-screen with a quick phone call.
Donations & Support
Are you a registered charity or government funded?
We’re independent, not government-funded, and not a registered charity. Your support directly keeps the platform online and pets visible.
Can I get a tax receipt for donations?
Because we’re not a registered charity, donations are generally not tax-deductible in NZ. You’ll still receive a payment confirmation for your records.
Where do donations go?
Donations cover hosting, security, moderation, and feature development so more pets are found by the right families across NZ.

How fast do you reply?
We aim to respond within 24–48 hours, Monday–Friday (NZT, excluding public holidays).
I submitted the form but only see a “preview” message
That message appears only when the Elementor Shortcode isn’t active in the editor. On the live page your real WPForms embed will render in the form area automatically.
Can I delete my account or remove a listing?
Yes. You can unpublish or delete listings from My Listings. For account deletion, email support@petrescue.org.nz.
