Rocco is a beautiful healthy boxer x (DNA test = 3/4 Boxer and 1/4 border collie) however he has become very reactive to strangers. Once he gets to know someone he absolutely adores them. Lots of licks and energy.
He has a strong herding drive when off leash and will circle me and bark – which I have been working on tirelessly. He doesn’t seem to do this with anyone but me.
He has a lifetime trainer that is able to be transferred if needed. (Will require discussion)
I have spent thousands trying to give him the best life possible, but it has come to the point where his behaviour is posing difficult for me to manage on my own.
He loves other dogs and plays energetically with them.
Rocco needs a big safe space that he can run around safely in, preferably away from random people or small children. The idea of rehoming him is really awful, therefore I will only let him go to someone that has experience supporting and loving a reactive dog.
This is not a decision I am making lightly- I want him to be able to enjoy his life as he has been an awesome companion till now.
