PERSONALITY
Comet is a lovely family pet. He is great with kids and loves to play when anyone is willing! His favourite activities include playing frisbee, chasing balls and sticks, and swimming at the river or beach.
He has eye dog traits, so watches things intently, and hardly barks. He is outstanding off the lead.
He tends to be protective of the family when other dogs eagerly approach (Comet will ignore them if they don’t come over) and will chase cats. He would be fine on a farm as he has always ignored other animals like sheep, chickens, goats etc.
HEALTH & GROOMING
Comet has been generally healthy and has a lovely short hair coat. We give him a well balanced full nutrition dry food twice daily, and fresh/frozen meat from NZ Pet Foods Oamaru a few times a week.
He has had both his ACL joints repaired over the last few years and has had no ongoing issues. Has a little bit of arthritis in his hips which has been managed well, so he is still happy and active (still able to jump after frisbees and balls, just like when he was a pup). Further, he has been insured for his entire life and this could be continued.
