Charlie is a large (60kg) mixed breed dog with protective instincts. He’s extremely well-trained and very intelligent, however it is essential to note for any prospective new owner that his breed mix means he is temperamental. Someone with patience, understanding and experience of such termperaments woud suit him best. He is not a suitable for someone new to dogs or with expectations he will behave like a labrador or similar. He is fantastic with other dogs EXCEPT if the other dog is aggressive or poses a threat, when such potential dogs are around we call Charlie to a heel until they have passed. Our other dog Teddy is an in-tact large male and they are the best of friends.
He is a very capable boy that can be taught to do a lot (this is something we’d be very keen to show and help with), however this does not mean he will choose 100% of the time to listen, it might take two asks depending on his mood! He is very calm, kind-hearted and gentle by nature, however some rough and tumble play also goes down well also. He is very fit and active, walks exceptionally well on-lead and is safe to walk off-lead in certain environments.
He would make a truly epic companion for anyone who is adventurous (he goes anywhere) and wants a strongly bonded relationship with a dog. He needs his people to be around more than they’re not, and he seeks interaction and stimulation. He loves games, walks, belly rubs and grooming, and of course a big feast (he is big AND active).
