This is genuinely one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, and I’m absolutely heartbroken even having to write this. π
Due to moving to Australia, I’m sadly having to find a new home for my beautiful girl, Jett.
If I had the choice, I would take her with me in a heartbeat. She’s my best mate, my baby, and my whole world. Unfortunately, my current living situation doesn’t allow me to bring her with me, and as much as it kills me, I need to find her a home where she can have the space, love and lifestyle she deserves. This isn’t a decision I’ve made lightly, and if there were another way, I would take it in a heartbeat. β€οΈ
I’ve had Jett since she was just 8 weeks old, so she’s been a huge part of my life for the past 4.5 years. She’s my first baby, my little shadow, and so much more than just a dog to me. She’s been by my side through so much, and the bond I have with her is something I can’t put into words. The thought of having to say goodbye absolutely breaks my heart. β€οΈ
πΎ A LITTLE BIT ABOUT JETT:
β€οΈ 4.5-year-old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier (Staffy)
β€οΈ Desexed
β€οΈ Extremely friendly and affectionate with her humans
β€οΈ The biggest baby who absolutely LOVES her cuddles
π Has absolutely no concept of personal space because she just wants to be as close to her humans as possible!
π§ Very good with kids and has grown up alongside my daughter since she was born. β€οΈ
π Loves her walkies and getting out and about
π Absolutely loves car rides and coming along for adventures
βοΈ Loves being outside, sunbathing, running around and enjoying life
ποΈ Loves being tucked into bed with a nice blanket over her, BUT her nose MUST be sticking out from under the blanket! πβ€οΈ It’s her own little bedtime ritual!
Jett does have some anxiety, so she needs a patient, understanding home where she can feel safe, secure and loved. β€οΈ She hasn’t had a huge amount of interaction with other dogs, so any introductions would need to be handled carefully and at her own pace.
I’m hoping to find her a home with plenty of outdoor space, a nice sunny spot to relax in, room to run around, and, most importantly, people who will give her all the love, attention and cuddles she could ever want. π‘βοΈ
I’d love for her to find a family who will include her in their lives, take her on her walkies, bring her along for car rides and adventures, tuck her into bed at night, and give her the happy, fulfilling life she deserves.
β€οΈ A LITTLE SOMETHING THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME β€οΈ
Although I know I’ll need to let her go, I’d absolutely love to stay in touch with whoever gives Jett her new home. I’d love to receive the odd update and photos of how she’s getting on, and hopefully even be able to visit her when I come back to New Zealand for holidays.
I completely understand that this would depend on the new owner’s comfort and what works best for Jett, but it would mean the absolute world to me to know how she’s doing and that she’s being loved and cared for. β€οΈ
One thing that’s really important to me is knowing that Jett will always have a safe place to go. If, for whatever reason, things don’t work out and you feel Jett isn’t the right dog for you, or your circumstances change, I would be incredibly grateful if you contacted me and gave me the opportunity to take her back rather than having her passed from home to home.
I’ve had her since she was 8 weeks old, and I never want her to feel unwanted or unsettled. I’d much rather have the chance to bring my girl back to me than have her end up somewhere she’s not happy. β€οΈ
I don’t want to rush into finding her a home just for the sake of it. I want to find the RIGHT HOME, where she can be happy, comfortable, safe and loved for the rest of her life.
If you think you could offer my girl the loving home she deserves, or know someone who might be the perfect fit, please reach out to me.
Please share this post if you can. It would mean the absolute world to me to help find Jett her perfect forever home. β€οΈπΎ
I’m not just looking for someone to take her. I’m looking for someone who will love her like family.
Thank you. πβ€οΈπΎ
