We have taken the decision to move to Europe and it’s with absolute heartache that we have to leave our darling boy, Lío, behind. We are looking for the right forever family/home for him.
Lío came into our lives nearly 10 years ago, when he was ~6 months old (we don’t know his exact DOB). The SPCA didn’t know much about his life before that, but we don’t think he had always been treated very kindly.
Some facts about our Lío (pronounced like ‘Leo’):
+ He’s a tabby and white coloured Domestic Short Hair cat, and a very handsome one according to the human ladies
+ He’s a gentleman – he’s not a big fan of a litter box and will prefer to do his toileting outside not matter what the weather
+ He’s quiet – he’s not a very vocal cat, he’ll open his mouth and it looks like his meowing but no real sound comes out
+ He’s a nature boy – he loves hanging outside, finding sunny spots or look out posts from where he can watch life go by
+ He’s not clingy – he likes a good pat first thing in the morning, he likes to have a bit of lap time in the evenings when we’re watching TV and when its cold, he likes to sleep on the bed with us. He won’t be under your feet all the time, so no real danger of him tripping you up.
+ He’s used to being a one-man show – he hasn’t had to share his home with other pets, so do allow for a good amount of settling in time if you have another pet already (I think he would prefer to be the only cat though)
+ He’s an enthusiastic eater – as much as he gives us super cute kitty eyes/I’m starving facial expressions, we have to control how much he eats otherwise he’ll become a fat boy
+ He’s not a big fan of being in a carrier (hence why spending +30 hours in one within an aeroplane cargo hold isn’t an option)
+ He has an allergy to the protein in usual cat food, the only food he can is Hill’s Prescription Diet z/d Skin/Food Sensitivities (he has both the dry and wet versions)
+ He has a blocked tear duct in his left eyed. It doesn’t cause any issues, he just needs help every now and then with keeping his eye clean
+ He’s desexed, microchipped and we keep up with his vaccinations and flea/worm treatment
+ He comes with his own blankets, bed, couch, food bowls, placemat, toys, brushes, litter box (for this initial settling in weeks).
