Description

Meet Ellie! She’s a 5 ½-year-old Labrador Staffy cross, weighing approximately 32kg. Ellie is a lovable, excitable, and goofy girl who’s sure to bring lots of joy to the right home.
About Ellie:
Temperament: Ellie is sweet and affectionate, with a strong desire for attention, especially a good back rub or scratch! She can be a bit drooly but is incredibly loving.
Training: Ellie is house and crate trained and sleeps comfortably in her crate at night. She knows basic commands such as Sit, Down, Stay, Middle, and High Five. She’s food-motivated, so training has been progressing well, but she can sometimes have selective hearing.
Behavior: Ellie is reactive on a lead, which is partly due to past incidents with other dogs and cats. She can be a bit shouty when people arrive on the property, but this is just her excited nature and also acts as an alert system. Ellie is not off-leash trained as she does not have recall.
Health: Ellie does have a small incontinence issue, which is managed well with medication. She is fully vaccinated and microchipped.
Requirements for her new home:
No Cats: Ellie cannot live with cats.
Other Dogs: She currently lives with a small dog and gets along with them, but she can be wary of new dogs, and interactions depend on how they respond to her.
Commitment to Training: Ellie will thrive in a home with someone who is willing to continue her training, particularly to help with her lead reactivity. She would benefit from a consistent routine and positive reinforcement.
Why We’re Rehoming: We are looking to rehome Ellie due to our need to downsize and move closer to work. Unfortunately, we will not have the space or yard required for a large dog.
Ellie came to us as an 8-week-old puppy from Pound Hound Rescue, and it breaks our hearts to let her go, but we want to make sure she finds the perfect home where she can live her best life.
If you’re interested in offering Ellie a loving home, please contact us braedonclark040@gmail.com or Private Message through Messenger for more information or to arrange a meeting.
