Rocky is one of those dogs who makes the room brighter the moment he walks in — his smile is infectious, and his wagging tail hasn’t stopped since the day he arrived.
He’s a beautiful phantom-coloured boy — mostly black with warm splashes of brown and grey on his legs and face, the Bernese in him peeking through in the most stunning way. At 7 months old, he’s still entire (his Bernese heritage means he should wait until 18 months to be neutered), and was purchased from a reputable West Auckland breeder whose dogs are all health-screened for hips and other breed-specific concerns.
Rocky is as clever as he is beautiful. He house-trained with ease and already knows sit, down, and wait. He picks things up so quickly that he could easily learn more advanced commands with the right person guiding him. He walks beautifully on the lead, loves to play with any kind of ball, and nothing makes him happier than burying his face in the long grass on a bush walk — this boy was made for the outdoors.
He’s been raised alongside two young children and an older giant breed dog, who Rocky has given a new lease on life with his companionship and playful nature. He is gentle, loving, and completely devoted to his people — follows you from room to room, greets you like you’ve been gone a year, and ends every evening with his head resting quietly in your lap until he falls asleep.
Due to a change in our family circumstances, we are no longer able to give Rocky the time, attention, and active lifestyle he so deserves — and it breaks our hearts to know he isn’t living his best life every day. He needs a family who can match his energy and spirit, and give him the adventure-filled, love-filled life he was born for.

– Great with kids and other dogs (he hasn’t been around cats, so I don’t know how he’d be with one)
– Will come with his lead, Halti head collar, his red puppy blankie, bowl, and whatever is left of his food at the time and the large container we keep it in.
