Tucker is the most loving, cuddly, smart dog you’ll ever meet. He lives for intense snuggles, zooms around the yard, and learning new things (he already knows sit, stay, drop, heel and is an absolute sponge for training). He’s a total people-dog and has the sweetest, goofiest personality.
With an incredibly heavy heart we have made the decision to find him a new home. We have four children all under five. The other day, for the first time ever, Tucker snapped and lunged at me and our other dog during a moment of high excitement mixed with disappointment. No one was seriously hurt but I was left with bite marks that penetrated the skin. After calming down he went back to his normal affectionate self (almost like he was apologising), but with toddlers in the house we simply cannot take any risk at all. Our trust is broken and the kids’ safety has to come first. If we didn’t have the children or if they were older we would keep him but my kids are far too young.
Tucker is NOT aggressive day-to-day – he has lived happily with us and another dog for nearly a year – but the risk is something I cannot justify if he happens to flip again.
He would be in his absolute element on a lifestyle block or farm – he has energy to burn, loves to run, and is built like a little tank (Staffy is the strongest look, but you can see he is x). He is a real head-turner and gets compliments everywhere he goes. He loves the water, loves fetch and loves people/attention.
Ideal new home:
• Adults only or older children (10+)
• Someone who wants a loyal shadow and cuddle-bug
• Active lifestyle – he’d love to go on runs, to the beach, or just potter around a big section
We are in Rolleston/Selwyn and will be extremely careful about where he goes. Home check and references required – this boy deserves the very best. There is an Adoption fee of $300 purely to filter for Tuckers sake.
