Description

We have had him for over 4 months and sadly he and our other dog do not get on at all. I got him at 10 months old off a farm – he hadn’t had any lead or collar introduction, or any experience of life off the farm. Despite him liking to go in the car, just short trips out do appear to be overwhelming/stressful for him.

I’ve been working hard on his training (including engaging a trainer) but the reality is he would be better off with someone who is more experienced and has the right environment for him. He has a lovely nature and a sweet boy who wants to please. He is hugely food driven.

He knows not to jump on people, is good around kids (3 years old and up are the ages he has experienced). He knows sit, (lie) down, leave it, is crate trained and we are working on walking nicely. He needs more socialisation/desensitisation to city life if he is to stay in the city, such as joggers, other dogs walking past, etc.

He is intact, was 1 year old in March, up to date with his immunisations and microchipped.

I do suggest if you haven’t had a Dalmatian before that you look up low purine diets. He has shown no sign of developing bladder stones though.
