Meet Hazel — affectionate, intelligent and ready for her next adventure
Hazel is a beautiful young mixed-breed dog, turning two in November, who is looking for the right long-term home and family.
We don’t know Hazel’s exact breed mix, but she has the look and characteristics of a Huntaway / Black Mouth Cur / working-dog type — intelligent, loyal, athletic, curious and very people-oriented.
Hazel has been well socialised and beautifully trained. She has had professional dog training as well as ongoing training at home and is obedient, responsive and eager to learn. She is affectionate, loyal and friendly, and has settled considerably as she has matured.
She is also a bright, energetic young dog who thrives when she has something to do. Hazel will be happiest with people who enjoy being outdoors and can give her good exercise and mental stimulation every day. An active family or experienced dog owner who understands the value of consistent routines and continuing good training would be an ideal match.
Hazel has been very well cared for throughout her life. Her mother was rescued while pregnant, so Hazel herself has been in a loving home from the beginning. She has regular veterinary care and is:
* Desexed
* Fully vaccinated, with records
* Microchipped
* Currently Auckland registered/licensed
* Healthy and regularly seen by our vet
We are rehoming Hazel because our family circumstances simply don’t allow us to give an intelligent, active dog the time and stimulation she deserves. This isn’t a decision we’ve made lightly, and finding the right home rather than simply a home is very important to us.
There is no adoption fee, but we would like to meet prospective owners and talk about Hazel’s needs and the home she would be joining.
For the right person or family, we think Hazel will be an absolutely lovely companion — loyal, affectionate, clever, trainable and full of character.
