We are reluctantly looking to rehome Bo, our 5-year-old male Labrador. He likes routine, is house trained, walks well on a loose lead with the aid of treats, enjoy walks, and enjoys his bed. We rehomed him and his sister in February and he has bonded well with us and we had no issues settling him in.
Unfortunately, he is reactive to both children and other dogs, so he will need a calm, experienced home committed to managing and continuing his training. We do not have the time due to our busy lifestyle to give him the time he needs to continue his development to improve his reactivity.
About him:
β’ Age: 5 years
β’ Breed: Labrador Retriever
β’ Colour: Black
β’ Sex: Male (desexed)
β’ Health: Up to date with vaccinations.
β’ Energy: Low-Medium β he likes exercise and stimulation
Temperament:
β’ Affectionate with people he knows and trusts
β’ Reactive to unfamiliar children and dogs (barking/lunging especially when they get close to him or when he is surprised)
β’ Not suitable for dog parks or busy public areas
β’ Needs ongoing behaviour management.
Ideal home:
β’ Adult-only household
β’ No other pets
β’ Secure, well-fenced property
β’ Owner with experience handling reactive or challenging dogs
β’ Willingness to continue training
This is a difficult decision, and we are committed to finding him a safe, understanding, and permanent home. We will take time to ensure the right match.
