Account and privacy

To keep scammers off Pet Rescue, some listings are checked by a person before they go live, usually within a day.

  1. Every sale listing (fee over $250) is checked.
  2. Listings that mention deposits, shipping, couriers, transport fees or unusual payments are held.
  3. So are listings that ask people to move to WhatsApp or Telegram, or that include a phone number or email.
  4. Photos already used in another listing, or a listing posted from outside New Zealand, are held.
  5. A new account listing a high-demand breed, or a puppy or kitten under 8 weeks old, is also checked.

Good to know

  • While it’s being checked, your listing shows as Being checked under My listings.
  • We’ll email you when it’s live. If we can’t approve it, we’ll email you too, and you can reply if you think it’s a mistake.
  • Editing a live listing in a way that trips these checks puts it back for a quick check.
